FAQ

WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION FEES?
* Early bird registration, which is now through August 22, 2015, is $175 for the entire family.
* Late registration, which is August 23, 2015 through January 22, 2016, is $225 for the entire family.
* Registration at the door is $275 for the entire family. If you paid early registration, but need to add a member to your registration, the fee is $15 per person after January 22, 2016. If you add the person prior to registration close (prior to January 22, 2016), there will be no extra cost. Simply email UP with details at: unschoolersplatform@gmail.com. * Day passes (meaning you show up for just one day of the conference and want to only participate in that one/single day) will be: $65 per person on Monday, February 22, 2016. $85 per person on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. And $85 per person on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Please note that day passes will *NOT* include participation in the Family Craft Fair, *nor* the Family Dance. Extra charges are incurred for these two activities, if you are purchasing day passes. ALSO… please note…. Key Lime Cove does *not* sell day swim passes. Passes to the waterpark are only awarded to guests who stay in the hotel. If you opt for a day pass to the conference, you will expect *not* to swim in the waterpark.

WHAT DOES OUR FAMILY REGISTRATION INCLUDE?
Family registration is suitable for up to 8 people within a single family to participate in all aspects of the Unschoolers Platform conference. This includes access too:
– Any/all adult speakers and workshops
– Any/all running funshops
– Family Fun Meet & Greet
– Dads’ hangin’ out time
– A showing and discussion of Class Dismissed
– Teen room, talks, and planned activities
– Participation in buying and selling in the Family Craft Fair
– Family Game Night
– Family Movie Night
– A Q&A panel of guest speakers
– A moms only gathering
– Family Dance
– Access to an incredible vendor hall

**Please note** All members (up to 8 within a single family) must be added on your registration form or you will incur a $15 per person charge for each member needing to be added once registration is complete.

ARE OUR HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS INCLUDED?
No. Hotel accommodations are a separate cost incurred. You will need to book your hotel room for the duration of your stay, which will include (1) our conference group rate, and (2) waterpark passes for each of your family members.

Please call 224-656-8685 to book your stay with Key Lime Cove. Don’t forget to mention you are with the Unschoolers Platform conference and keep the conference dates handy for reservation information. Further information about the hotel can be found HERE.

 

ARE OUR WATERPARK PASSES INCLUDED?
Waterpark passes are included with the purchase/reservation of your hotel stay. Key Lime Cove does *not* sell/honor/allow for one day passes. Swimming in the waterpark is for hotel guests only. You must have your guest wristband to enter the waterpark. The waterpark is open daily from 10am – 9pm during our stay at Key Lime Cove, and further fun details can be found HERE.

 

IS FOOD INCLUDED IN OUR STAY?
Food is not included in your room rate or registration fee. Rooms are supplied with mini fridges and coffee makers. Microwaves are available for patron usage on each floor. The hotel also has a wonderful selection of restaurants you can become familiar with HERE. There is also a slew of outside dining availability within the Six Flags, Hotel and Gurnee Mills Mall area. Free shuttle to and from the Mall is available.

 

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE KIDS?
Aside from the amazing conference Funshops your kids are welcome to enjoy the waterpark, game room and conference friends, the hotel also has amazing *free* programming for kids daily. You can visit the FUNTIVITIES section for kids to see everything they have the opportunity to participate in!

 

WHAT ARE FUNSHOPS?
Funshops are a way to share what we love with others that love the same thing too! From D&D, to Yoga, to ATC, to Hula-hoopin’, to Tag, to Chess, to…… you get where I’m going with this. Funshops are a way to host a group of folks with the same interest, OR a strong interest in learning more about the hobby/passion/interest/subject, etc. Funshops run about an hour long. You do need to sign up to host a funshop. There is no cost/no fee attached. If you are a registered member of the conference, you may host a funshop. You set your parameters; age, subject, materials, etc. The idea is for this to be free for everyone else as well. So if you decide you’d like to host a Minecraft funshop, let folks know to bring their laptops. If you want to hula-hoop your heart out, let folks know to bring their hula-hoops and join you! If you’d like to swap magic tricks, let folks know to bring their favorites for some magic fun swapping! Get the idea? It’s an awesome way to make new friends and share common interests! IS THERE CHILDCARE? 
Unschoolers Platform conference is designed to be a family event! There are workshops for parents as well as the funshops (for everyone), but parents need to be fully available for their kiddos. This means, please no unattended kids at the waterpark, throughout the hotel, and/or within the conference hall area. Kids young enough should always have a caregiver around, and kids old enough, should be old enough to know better. This event is intended for families to enjoy and meet other families.

 

WHAT ABOUT OUR TEENS?
Don’t you worry! There are plenty of things for the teens to do. Aside from the game room, restaurants, and waterpark, there is a private boardroom being converted to the designated teen hang out. If no scheduled funshops or talks are running in there, it is available for hanging out, gaming, music sharing, etc. Teens will have their safe haven at UP as well!

 

WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO COME FOR THE DAY?
Day passes are available for the *conference only.* Fees are as follows:
– $65 per person on Monday, February 22, 2016.
– $85 per person on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
– And $85 per person on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
You may pay online or at the door.

**Please note however** Day passes *exclude* the Family Craft Fair participation as well as the Family Dance. If you would like the opportunity to sell your wares at the Family Craft Fair, you may purchase a table at $35 for the fair time. If you would like to participate in the Family Dance, you may purchase tickets at $8 per person, or $30 max per family.

*ALSO* and probably most importantly, Key Lime Cove does *not* sell day passes to the waterpark. If you come for just the day, you will not have access to the waterpark at all.

WHAT IS THE FAMILY CRAFT FAIR?
It is just what it sounds like! An opportunity for crafters alike to sell their wares and support each other. What goes around comes around. Kids… Adults…. if you are a paid registrant of the Unschoolers Platform conference, you may have a table to sell your stuffs! If you are coming on a day pass, you may purchase your table to sell your things for $35 per table. ** Please note** this is for hand-crafted wares only! If you own a business that sells manufactured products, this is not your venue. You may contact UP to purchase a vendors table in the vendors hall. The craft fair is for artists and crafters only please!

 

WHAT IS IN THE VENDOR HALL?
The vendor hall is set up for businesses both local and national to come and sell for their company. A list of vendors will be updated as it becomes available. If you have a product, book, curriculum, toy, game, etc. that you would like to present to this awesome community, please apply for your vendor table HERE.
